Pedrosa’s lap of 1.56’209 was less than a tenth off the track record and over seven tenths ahead of American Yamaha Factory rider Ben Spies. Current Championship leader, Jorge Lorenzo, who was lapping consistently in the low 1.57s could not get close to Pedrosa’s laptime.

German LCR Honda rider Stefan Bradl was unable to match his fifth place from yesterday, but nonetheless looked strong. Cardion AB Racing rider Karel Abraham pleased his home fans by slotting his Ducati machine in ninth place, ahead of Frenchman Randy de Puniet on board his Power Electronics Aspar machine.
