Spanish Ferrari driver and current Championship leader Fernando Alonso, who got involved in a heavy crash at the start of the race at Spa last weekend, used Twitter to say that he will be fit for next weekend's Grand Prix at Monza in Italy.
The Spaniard suffered a pain in his left shoulder when French Lotus driver Romain Grosjean's Lotus flew over his Ferrari cockpiti, narrowly missing Alonso's head.
'"Today I woke up with no pain and 200% ready for Monza," the Spanish two-time F1 World Champion tweeted.
Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber, who went into last weekend's Grand Prix in Belgium 40 points behind Alonso, was unable to take maximum advantage of the Spaniard's misfortunes, finishing the race in sixth. His team mate, current World Champion Sebastian Vettel, maximized his opportunities, finishing the race in second behind race winner Jenson Button. Alonso still leads the drivers championship by 24 points over Vettel, who sits in second, going into next weekend's Italian Grand Prix.
