However, many insiders believe Petrov will retain his seat at Caterham F1, but the team has yet to confirm its second driver for the 2013 campaign. Currently, there is no move to Marussia on the cards and his manager Oksana Kosachenko is focusing on keeping Petrov at Caterham F1.
Speaking to F1News.ru, Kosachenko said: "The Petrov situation depends on management decisions at Caterham. There are no negotiations with Marussia."
While Petrov's F1 future remains in doubt, the Russian has been confirmed to take part in this year's 'Race of Stars' event in Moscow, joining Kimi Räikkönen and Charles Pic to race against each other on an oval ice track. The event is organised by Russian magazine Za Rulem and takes place at the Moscow Hippodrome on Saturday February 23.
