The reigning MotoGP World Champion flew straight into the top of the time sheets with a 1’22.047 second lap. However, in less than ten minutes in the Spaniard suffered a massive high-side crash, falling heavily onto his injured shoulder.
Lorenzo was taken immediately to the Clinica Mobile where after being examined it was revealed he had damaged the plate inserted in surgery two weeks ago. As a result the decision has been made to back out of the German Grand Prix. This evening, Lorenzo will head to Barcelona where he will undergo surgery tomorrow to repair any damage.
