Driving a Subaru Impreza S12 WRC, Kubica and his Italian co-driver Emmanuele Inglesi, had a good start winning the first stage. They finished ninth in the second stage, but regained form in the next stages, winning every stage from 4th to 9th to take the lead in the overall classification.
With Kubica tipped to replace Spaniard Jaime Alguersuari as a Pirelli test driver, the chances of returning to Formula 1 would only increase. However, Pirelli motorsport director Paul Hembery does not know if Kubica is able to drive a Formula 1 car at this stage, but is willing to give the Pole the opportunity to work with F1 machinery if he's ready.
