Australian Grand Prix Qualifying To Resume On Sunday

The Australian Grand Prix qualifying is set to resume on Sunday due to heavy rainfall in Melbourne on Saturday. After a tricky Q1 session, the start of the Q2 session had been delayed on numerous occasions until the fading light forced Race Control to postpone the last two qualifying segments. Qualifying action is scheduled to take place at 11am local time (GMT +11) tomorrow morning, just six hours before the season opening race at the Albert Park street circuit gets underway.

The last time Formula 1 completed its qualifying sessions on a Sunday was at the 2010 Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka, when FIA Race Director Charlie Whiting made the decision to suspend Saturday's qualifying due to persistent rainfall.
