Following a CT scan, it was revealed that Iannone had suffered a small fracture to the humerus as well as bruises that are the primary cause of the pain being endured by the Vasto-born rider. Iannone has been advised to rest for at least two weeks for the bruises to diminish naturally and is expected to return to action for the third US round in Indianapolis on August 18.
The Pramac Racing team is considering a replacement for Iannone for this weekend's race at Laguna Seca, while Moto2's Alex de Angelis is set to substitute for injured Ben Spies.
