Barbera Attempting To Ride Indianapolis Race

Spanish Pramac Ducati rider Hector Barbera is set to attempt to ride at The Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend despite his injury. The Pramac Racing Team announced last week that Spain's Toni Elías was to substitute for Barbera, who broke his fibula and tibia in a training crash just four weeks ago.

Barbera has made significant progress in his rehabilitation in the last week and will evaluate his ability to ride in the first free practice session on Friday morning.

Toni Elías, who was the replacement rider in Laguna Seca last time out, will be present at the race track and he will be on-hand to replace his fellow compatriot once more, should Barbera be in too great a discomfort.
