Each driver is permitted one gearbox for the course of five consecutive race weekends. Should the gearbox have to be changed at any point during that interim, then the driver will face a five-place punishment.
The Red Bull team broke the curfew on Friday night as a result of all the work that had to be done. The curfew prevents those who work directly with the cars from remaining within the confines of the race circuit after a set time; however, teams are allowed four exceptions in a season.
