Warwick To Serve As FIA Steward In Suzuka

Englishman Derek Warwick will serve as the FIA driver representative steward at this weekend’s Japanese Grand Prix in Suzuka. Warwick, who made his F1 debut in 1981 driving for Toleman, has raced for many years in F1, but has never won a Grand Prix. Some consider the Brit to be one of the best F1 drivers never to win a Grand Prix.

After his F1 career, Warwick raced in the British Touring Car Championship in 1995, 1997 and 1998 and founded 888 Race Engineering which has since won numerous Teams Championships. Although Warwick has never won an F1 race, he has won the World Sportscar Championship in 1992 and he also won the 24 hours of Le Mans being part of the Peugeot team in that same year.

The 58 year old Englishman, who has already taken up the steward role on several occasions, has his Formula 1 blog on champions365.com and operates a Honda franchise in Jersey, specialised in servicing and reparing Honda vehicles.
