Fans of the Italian team were given the opportunity to vote for the car's name online, following the announcement of Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo at the team's traditional pre-Christmas dinner last year.
With five options, F14 T, F14 Maranello, F166 Turbo, F616, F14 Scuderia, available to choose from, the F14 T came out as the most popular.
"It’s nice to know the name of the car has been chosen by our fans," Team Principal Stefano Domenicali told Ferrari's official website. "The amazing number of votes shows just how popular Ferrari has always been and this will be, as always, a further impetus for us to do well this year!"
The Scuderia's online poll attracted a total of 1,123,741 votes and the margin between the two most popular names, F14 T and F166 Turbo, was just 1.7%. The remaining three names on the list fared less well: F14 Scuderia in third (18.8%), followed by F14 Maranello (12.3%) and F616 (4.8%.)
Ferrari will present the new F14 T F1 car tomorrow at 14:30pm (CET) in Maranello, three days before the pre-season test in Jerez, Spain.
