Lotus Shows Images Of E22 F1 Car

The Lotus F1 team has become the latest team to release images of its 2014 contender, the E22.

Unlike the McLaren-Mercedes MP4-29 and the Williams FW36, the Renault-powered E22 features a highly unusual assymetric split-nose design, which has been labeled as a 'forklift'.

The livery of Lotus' new challenger, which will be driven by Romain Grosjean and Pastor Maldonado, is sharing much the same colour scheme as its predecessor, but includes branding of some new partners of the Enstone-based team.

Images of the E22 have been revealed, however, Lotus looks set to be the only squad that will not be present at next week's pre-season testing in Jerez after announcing that attending the Spanish session was 'not ideal' for its build and development programme.

The team has announced that it will officially present the E22 F1 car at the beginning of the first pre-season test at Sakhir's Bahrain International Circuit in February, one month before the season-opener at Australia's Melbourne Park street circuit. (March 16)
