Jorge Lorenzo Declared Fit For Warm Up Session In Assen

In no less than 48 hours after his crash during the FP2 session in Assen, Yamaha Factory Racing rider Jorge Lorenzo has been declared fit to reappear on the grid for the Dutch Grand Prix Warm Up session. Having dominated the opening practice session on Thursday, the Mallorcan lost control of his Yamaha M1 bike in wet conditions, fracturing his left collarbone in a crash in the afternoon.

Lorenzo, currently second in the Riders Championship, underwent surgery in Barcelona and flew back to the Netherlands on Friday. Following a medical examination this morning by the Assen Medical Team and the MotoGP Medical Director, the reigning MotoGP World Champion has been declared fit to participate in today's Warm-Up session.

A further medical check will take place following the pre-race session to assess the Spaniard's ability to take part in this afternoon's race.
